Islington’s Pride: an archive for the future

We are very excited to be launching a new exhibition at Islington Museum – Islington’s Pride: an archive for the future.

Tuesday 31 January – 16 March 2017
Islington Museum, 245 St John Street, Open daily 10am – 5pm
(closed Wednesday and Sunday)

This exhibition takes a look at some of Islington’s LGBT+ heritage through the organisations, people and places where history was made. Over the next two years we aim to create an LGBT+ archive for Islington, so come and give us your ideas on what we should collect

We will also be displaying our newly acquired Kenneth Halliwell ‘World of Cats 1966’ screen artwork for the first time. We were able to purchase this unique piece with the help of the Art Fund and private donation.

As part of the exhibition we are running 3 free walks in collaboration with CIGA. These will take place on:

Saturday 11 February 11am
Saturday 18 February 11am
Saturday 25 February 11am
Booking for these walks is essential
